Some of the curriculum included in the DPD program are courses in Anatomy and Physiology, Food Science, Nutritional Biochemistry, Microbiology, Nutrition in the Management of Disease, Advanced Nutrition, and Nutrtion Throughout the Lifecycle, including labratory experience with hands-on activities.

Since the science and the practice of dietetics draws upon and integrates the principles of many disciplines including social sciences as well as health services and health education, in addition to dietetics, foods and nutrition, these courses are part of the ACEND-‐accredited curriculum.

The DPD at Lehman is an accredited program that is in compliance with the Eligibility Requirements and Accreditation Standards of ACEND, the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics, the accrediting agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

CERTIFIED HEALTH COACH

I received my training as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s cutting-edge Health Coach Training Program.

During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.

CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER

I received my training as a personal trainer from the National Counsel for Certified Personal Trainers.

The NCCPT teaches programming based on two main concepts: the concept of Periodization from Tudor Bompa and the concept of Specificity or the S.A.I.D principle (Specific Adaptation to Imposed Demands). Both of these concepts are well-established in the industry and every major sport and every rehabilitation program is based on these two main concepts.

The NCCPT provides the scientific concepts, assessment techniques and a thought process for trainers to adequately make the best decisions regarding their client’s health and fitness goals.

My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, personal training and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
